Twenty year old John Orosco, charged with kept firearm and ammunition without a gun license, changed his plea from not guilty to guilty to both offences when he was brought today before the Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith. Because he has no previous conviction for firearm offences he was sentenced to three years for each offence with the stipulation that the sentences are to run concurrently. Therefore, Orosco will only serve three years. The incident occurred around 9:35 a.m. on December 7, 2016. Based on information he received police constable Herman Martinez approached Orosco, who was standing in front of the magistrate court and informed him that a search will be conducted on him. The search resulted in the discovery of a point thirty eight revolver that was tucked in the left side of the waist of his pants. The revolver contained two bullets in its chamber. As a result, Orosco was arrested and charged.
