Almost two hundred students from several primary schools on the south side of Belize City gathered at the Bird’s Isle in Belize City this morning to receive their certificates of completion along with refreshments after they completed a seven month engagement with the Media Arts Academy Program that falls under the Love Foundation.  Deborah Straughan-Sewell is the Executive Director for Love Foundation and she spoke with Love News on today’s event.

According to Sewell, the seven months of attending sessions on creative writing, cadet training among other activities, have served the children well.

To attest to these positive turn arounds for the children, we spoke with two parents who spoke to us on the improvements they have seen in their children.

Dr. Rene Villanueva Sr is the Chairman of the Love Foundation and had the establishment of this organization as one of his life’s goals to help others.  We spoke with him today to get his sentiment on the progress of the Love Foundation.

Another session of a similar program is expected to begin later this year.  Some of the schools that participated include the Saint Martin de Porres, St Luke’s Methodist Primary School, among others.
