One of the questions that arose out of the entire incident of the Guatemalan vessel being able to come in our waters, particularly, in the still of the night when Belize was sleeping, was what level of national security does the country have in terms of monitoring those who are approaching or have come into our maritime space.  We asked Retired Colonel George Lovell, CEO in the Ministry of National Security to update us on where our national security system currently stands.

Love News also spoke of the possibility of attacks from Guatemala with Lovell and how that possibility is viewed by our security forces and officials.

Lovell also spoke of the procurement of additional vessels for the patrolling of the seas and improvements to the country’s national security.

As the investigation progresses, we will have further details on the incident at sea last night.
