The Guatemalan Naval vessel remains lodged on Glover’s Reef last night with officials attempting to pull the boat out early this morning. Our news team, accompanied by members of the Belize Coast Guard journeyed to the site yesterday and last night they stayed on Middle Caye to keep watchful eyes on the vessel in which armed Guatemalan men were forced to stay as a consequence of what is being described as an accident. The vessel was on its way to La Isla Mujeres, Mexico, but due to mechanical problems it began drifting and subsequently crashed into the reef. Officials from the Department of Environment and the Belize Port Authority visited the site to conduct their investigations. Hipolito Novelo tagged along and reports from Glover’s Reef.
