Dr. Rene Villanueva – Governor, Rotary District 4250

As we start the new Rotary Year 2015-2016 I take this opportunity to greet you as I reflect on the words of our president K.R. Ravindran at the time when he asked us to become a gift to the world. He said and I quote “all of us have been given so many gifts and now we have been given this great gift of one year to take all our talents, all our gifts, everything that we are and can become and be a gift to our communities and the world.” As governor 2015-2016 I intend to do so and urge you to do the same.’

Villanueva urges Rotarians within the District to keep in mind the motto of service above self.

Dr. Rene Villanueva – Governor, Rotary District 4250

“I ask that you work hand in hand with your president and board in ensuring that your club receives a presidential citation 2015 -16.  That you focus on staying and working in your clubs and encourage your fellow members to do the same. I have asked your Assistant Governor and President to foster and encourage our young generation by having joint meetings and doing joint projects with your Interact and Rotaract Clubs. That you join the campaign “each One Bring One” where you take at least one person to a Rotary meeting during the year with a view of making them interested in joining your club. That you each bring a new member to your club. That you encourage and support your President and board in doing joint projects with another club in another of the three countries in the district: Belize, Honduras and Guatemala. That you attend the district conference in Placencia Belize from the 13 to the 16 of April 2016. That you continue, and where possible increase your support to the Rotary Foundation which celebrates its centenary next year. That you enhance and promote the image of Rotary by telling the Rotary story to all you come in contact with. That you support and promote Unity, Peace and Love among your fellow club members and other clubs in our district.

The post of Governor in District 4250 rotates between Guatemala, Honduras and Belize. The incoming President of Rotary International is Ravi Ravindran of Sri Lanka.  He replaces Gary Huang of Taiwan.
