Body of elderly man retrieved from river

Early yesterday morning the body of 65-year-old Michael Emmerson Cain was found floating in the river on North Front Street in Belize City. According to Superintendent Hilberto Romero, Cain was seen with multiple wounds to the forehead and chin.

On Sunday the 5th day of July around 5:15 a.m., police responded to an area behind Spoonaz off North Front Street where they saw the lifeless body of Michael Caine,65 years floating in the river. His body was retrieved from the river and he was seen to have injuries to the forehead and to the jaw. He was taken to the KHMH where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The information we have is that he was associating with some persons in that area after which his body was discovered in the river. We have our investigators out there. I know the scene was processed, there was some blood in that area but eventually he was found in the river.”

Police investigations continue.
