Court News: Burglary – Firearms – Sex Offences – Robbery

Glenroy Reynolds, a security guard who was on duty when the Traffic Department building was burglarized on April 4, was charged with burglary and handling stolen goods when he appeared today before the Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith. Reynolds pled not guilty to the charges. He was denied bail and he was remanded into custody until October 15. According to the allegation, when the burglary was discovered and the tape from a surveillance camera was viewed, it showed Reynolds covering another surveillance camera with a cloth. It is also alleged that when confronted Reynolds handed over 6 of 20 license stickers that were missing.

Twenty one year old, Lyson Cacho and twenty year old, Nicasio Zuniga, were charged with firearm and ammunition offences when they appeared today before the Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith. They pled not guilty to the charges and were remanded into custody until October 15. GSU officers of the Police Department reported that that they went to a residence on Jones Street at around 8:30 a.m. on July 11 and were refused entry when they knocked on the door the first time.  The GSU went on to say that when they knocked a second time, someone opened the door and they went inside and encountered Cacho and Zuniga. They said when they went into a bedroom and searched under the bed they found a black plastic bag which contained one chrome 9 millimeter pistol with 14 rounds of ammunition in its magazine and 15 rounds of ammunition in the bag, a total of 29 rounds. As a result, Cacho and Zuniga were arrested and charged.

Forty year old Orlando Dawson, a construction worker of Bermudian Landing, who allegedly had sex with a girl 14 years and 10 months old, was charged with 3 counts of unlawful sexual intercourse when he appeared today before the Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith. Dawson was remanded into custody until October 30. The girl, accompanied by her mother, went to the police station and reported that Dawson had sex with her on 3 occasions, December 7, 2014, December 20, 2014 and December 31, 2014.

Alan Phillips was charged with robbery, harm and aggravated assault when he appeared today before the Chief Magistrate, Anne Marie Smith. Phillips pled not guilty to the charges. He was remanded into custody until October 13. The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 8. Fokrul Alam, the owner of Take and Pay Grocery Store, located on Euphrates Avenue, reported to the police that a man armed with a pistol went into his store and pistol whipped him and stole 400 dollars. The gunman also allegedly pointed his firearm at a security guard, Lincoln Glen, which was why Phillips was charged with aggravated assault.
