A two-storey wooden structure was burnt down in the wee hours of Saturday morning in Biscayne Village, Belize District.  The fire occurred between two thirty and three o’clock this morning, leaving four adults and nine children homeless.  According to the family, they were alerted of the fire when one of the occupants, Oscar Ponce felt the heat emanating from under his bedroom floor on the upper flat.  Upon making checks he found that the lower flat was on fire and thus he alerted the other occupants of the home.  Fire officials responded to the scene and extinguished the blaze but not before all the items in the home were destroyed.  The family believes the incident is a case of arson and is awaiting the report from the investigators.  The owner of the house is 37-year-old, Emerson Michael Sr.  Neither the house nor its contents was insured.  Love News checked in with the investigators and we were told that the matter is expected to be wrapped up by Tuesday evening.
