A man from Orange Walk Town is dead after the truck he was driving fell into the New River and he drowned. Love News understands the incident happened early Thursday morning around three o’clock when 35 year old Leonel Guerra Junior was travelling from Belize City to Orange Walk and while crossing the Toll Bridge at Tower Hill he somehow lost control of the Dodge Ram he was driving.  Guerra crossed to the left side of the bridge, ran over the cement-concrete side of the bridge, broke the metal railing on the side and fell thirty feet into the New River.  The vehicle landed on its back.  At the time of the mishap Guerra was travelling alone from Belize City to Orange Walk Town.  Some residents who live in the area heard the noise and went to investigate. They subsequently informed the police.  When police got to the scene they observed a black in color double cab dodge ram submerged in about five feet of water.  Inside they found the body of Leonel Guerra Junior.  With the help of divers, Guerra’s body was retrieved and taken to the Orange Walk morgue.  A post mortem was being conducted late this evening.  Guerra is a well-known building contractor of Orange Walk Town and we understand he was out celebrating his 35th birthday yesterday.
