10-Year-Old Gets Robbed and Injured in Northern Belize

Corozal Police have detained a man from Salvapan area in Belmopan pending charges of robbery and harm. A ten year old boy from Concepcion Village along with his mother went to the Police Station where he reported that just before one o’clock on Tuesday afternoon he was along with his sister in the Baiza Layout area when they were approached by two men wearing masks. He said one of the men had a machete and demanded money. As a result the boy was injured to his left arm and the back of the head. The boy said he then handed over eighty dollars and his phone valued at two hundred and eighty dollars. Police have one person detained in connection with the incident.
