Accused Burglar Says He Is Being Targeted by the Police

24-year-old, Elect Alexander Mckoy, a labourer of Racoon Street Extension in Belize City was charged with burglary and handling stolen goods after it was alleged that he stole four thousand dollars worth of items.  McKoy appeared today before Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser and pled not guilty to the charges. He was denied bail and was remanded into custody after he was unable to pay an outstanding court fine. His next court date is October 9. Police reports are that on August 3, Mckoy trespassed into the home of Carla Cleland on Chetumal Street and stole one Dell laptop computer, one Sony camera, one Samsung Galaxy cellular phone, one gold chain, one pair of silver bangles, assorted liquor, one tablet and four $20 US dollar bills. Mckoy claimed that he was at his work site during the time the burglary was committed and that he was being targeted by the police.
