Former Solicitor General dies after long illness

Former Solicitor General, Gian Ghandi died earlier today in Belmopan after a long illness. 82-year-old Ghandi has served the Government of Belize in various capacities for over 37 years including Crown Counsel, Director of Public Prosecutions and most recently as Legal Counsel in the Ministry of Finance.  Gandhi also served as Director-General of the International Financial Services Commission since 1999. Ghandi moved from London to Belize in 1978. He is survived by one sister and two brothers. Funeral services have not been finalized.
