Man charged for attempted murder of minor

Twenty-three year old Shane Harris, an unemployed of a George Street address, who allegedly shot a 17-year-old minor, was charged with attempted murder when he appeared today before Acting Chief Magistrate Patricia Arana. Harris was also charged with grievous harm and use of deadly means of harm. Acting Chief Magistrate told him that she will not take a plea because the offences are indictable. She also told him that the court cannot offer him bail because of the nature of the offences. She remanded him into custody until September 16. The incident occurred on Sunday, August 16. According to police reports, the minor was standing at the corner of Mapp Street and Cran Street when his assailant approached him and fired several shots at him. He was shot in his left leg.
