Earlier in the week, PUP’s Standard Bearer for Caribbean Shores, Kareem Musa, told Love News that he feels confident that he will defeat his UDP opponent, Darrell Bradley. Musa said that his campaign has been going great. However, he did also say that the only thing that Bradley has over him is Government monies to spend on his campaign. Well, today Bradley fired back saying that the private sector has been supporting his campaign.

Mayor Darrell Bradley

“I think we are doing very well in terms of showing people that we are on the ground, we want to represent them. We are campaigning and asking them for their vote, I don’t take anything for granted. I think people are relatively pleased in terms of the job performance at City Hall but they want to know that they can see their representative working on the ground and it’s been a joy to meet as many people as possible. Over the summer we’ve done a lot of activities, we did the Kelly Street Community Center we are still working on ensuring that that is fully operation and staffed for this school semester so that we have at least four computers in there. We’ve painted it, we’ve fixed it up inside so it looks very nice, we have security at the facility, we filled a lot next door so that the kids play football there. We’ve put a swing set and tables and things like that in there. We did a summer program which was hugely successful we had about 86 kids, we took them to the Cayes, we did Mountain Pine Ridge a lot of activities. This Sunday we are doing our back to school activity at Button Wood Bay Park where we are giving away school bags and books and equipment and pens.”

Where is the funding coming from?

Mayor Darrell Bradley

“One of the things I think we mentioned before, we have a very good relationship with members of the private sector and individual persons to the point where I don’t think it’s a big difficulty for us to get funding so that we have a significant amount of our support comes from business persons and it comes from residents in the area. I support my campaign myself because I am an attorney so that we have been able to get a lot of support.”

Is there PetroCaribe money rolling into your campaign?

Mayor Darrell Bradley

“I think you asked me that before but I want to be very clear in terms of PetroCaribe cannot and it does not for Darrell Bradley pay for any political thing that would be wrong and we are not about that.”
