Three weekend murders reported in Belmopan area.

“Belmopan Police hands are full following this very bloody weekend. We start with the first murder on Friday night August 28, there sometime before 10pm the special patrol unit was called out to the Hyde’s residence in the Young Bank area of Camalote Village where upon arrival saw the lifeless body of 45 year old Russel Hyde, farmer and business man of Camalote Village lying face up on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. Further checks were made where they came across the body of 28 year old Marcie Humes a resident of Roaring Creek village who was still alive suffering from several gunshot wounds. Love News spoke to Inspector Stephanie Grinage Second Officer in Command who shed some light on the shooting death of Hyde and Humes.

“On the 28th of August at about 9:40 pm police responded to a distress call about shots being fired in the Young Bank road area of Camalote Village where police visited a feeder road which leads to the residence of Russel Hyde where police observed a young lady suffering from gunshot wounds. She was taken to the Western Regional Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. A search of the immediate area led to the body of Russel Hyde with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the Western Regional Hospital and he was pronounced dead on arrival. Investigations so far have revealed the both along with another young man was at the residence when they were fired upon by about three unknown male persons. The investigation continues into this latest murder. No one has been detained at this time.”

“About eight and a half hours after on Saturday morning August 29th police were called out once again this time in the Young Gial area of Tea Kettle Village about a mile and half off the George Price Highway where they saw the lifeless body of a Hispanic male person apparently shot to death. Love News spoke to Superintendent Sinquest Martinez who updated us on the investigation.

“On Saturday 29th August 2015 at around 4:45am Belmopan police responded to a report of a male Hispanic person being flung on the Young Bank road. In respect to that information police visited the scene, the processed the scene where they saw the apparent lifeless body of a male Hispanic person with one apparent gunshot wound to the left of his head. He was transported to Belmopan Hospital where this male person was identified as Edwardo Manuel Sanchez Perez, a Nicaraguan National of Santander Sugar Factory on the Valley of Peace Road. Police is currently conducting an investigation into the matter. We have two persons detained.”

 Love News also spoke to an employee of Casitas Calinas farm who told us how he came across the body.

“Coming by the road side I saw body on my right hand side, meanwhile I was travelling from my work. The areas is Young Gial Road and I stopped and then I saw the body on the road side and when I stopped I noticed that it was a Spanish male person, that is all I knew about. I called my boss and my boss told me to call the police and I don’t remember the number. I called the police and they came sat me down and looked at the body.”

 

 

This afternoon Police charged one of their own as Police Officer Ryan Wagner was charged with the murder of Eduardo Manuel Perez Sanchez. Wagner of Camalotte Village is attached to special patrol branch.
