Three men appeared in Corozal Magistrate court this afternoon and were formally arraigned for drug trafficking and kept unlicensed fire arm and ammunition.  They are Dominique Franklyn, John Henry, and Elwin Evans.  Also arraigned was a 17 year old female minor.  Reports to Love News are that Corozal police was following a tip and shortly after 9 last night intercepted two vehicles that fit the description given near the Buena Vista junction.  Both vehicles; a Nissan Altima SUV bearing Belize City license plates and an Exterra SUV bearing Orange Walk license plates, were travelling north.  When officers carried out the search they found inside one of the vehicles a bag containing what was suspected to be marijuana.  Further search also found a nine millimetre hand gun with an extended magazine with 15 rounds of nine millimetre ammunition.  At the time, three men were travelling in the two vehicles and as a result they were taken to the Corozal Police station where the suspected drug was weighed in their presence.  The leafy substance weighed 502.8 grams.  This afternoon, the three men and the female minor were taken to court where the three charges were read to them and all pleaded not guilty.  The four were remanded to the Central Prison.  Love News understands that the female minor is daughter of a Belizean currently surviving a sentence at Quintana Roo state prison.
