Teenager charged for the murder of journalist Kareem Clarke

A seventeen year old has been charged for the shooting murder of 27 year old journalist Kareem Clarke. It has been more than two months since Clarke was gunned down in the Ghost Town Gang Area on Vernon Street. According to police, the 17 year old who is being accused for the murder is not a stranger to police. He was arraigned today in front of a magistrate at the Belize City Family Court. Bail was not offered due to the nature of the offence and the 17 year old accused murderer was put behind bars at the Belize Kolbe Foundation in Hattieville. He is to reappear to court in October 28. Clarke was riding his bicycle on Vernon Street in the wee hours of the morning on Monday July 6. When he arrived at the corner of Vernon and Lakeview Street, he was gunned down. He died on the spot. Motive for his murder has not been established.
