Young Mother of Twin Babies Dies in Traffic Incident

Keyria CamposA traffic incident has claimed the life of a young woman from Orange Walk Town.  The incident occurred this morning just before two o’clock between miles ten and eleven on the Placencia Road.   According to reports, 20-year-old, Kira Campus was traveling with her common-law-husband, 19-year-old, Giancarlo Jose Vega and their 3-month old twin babies when Vega lost control of the vehicle.  The couple, who is originally from Orange Walk Town, was in a blue 1980 PT Cruiser when the incident occurred near what Police have described as a dangerous curve.  Police responded to the area and found the young mother trapped in the vehicle and she was pronounced dead on the scene by a medical practitioner.  Meanwhile, Vega was taken to the Dangriga Hospital and later transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he is currently listed in a stable condition.  The family is now appealing to the public for blood as Vega is in need of A-positive donors  The babies received minor injuries; they have been treated and released from the hospital.  The couple resided in the Maya Beach area just before Placencia Village.
