The Belize Police Department has issued a brief report on the passport issue in San Ignacio Town which has led dozens of PUP supporters protesting in that municipality.  The incident occurred some forty eight hours ago in which the San Ignacio authorities were alerted of a bag found a business establishment, containing several passports.  According to the police blotter, they were called out at around two o’clock in the afternoon on Tuesday, October 20 and they were handed a bag containing one Honduran passport, one Guatemalan passport, one US passport, four Salvadoran passports and one Belizean passport.  The report has still not issued the names of the passport owners and only ended by saying what we had reported previously, that the items and the investigation has been handed over to the Major Crimes Unit in Belmopan.  Love News had made several attempts to contact Assistant Superintendent of Police, Joseph Myvette, but our calls went unanswered.  The police report noted that several persons have since been interviewed and the investigations are ongoing.
