The swearing in of foreigners who have applied for Belizean nationality is nothing new to our country as thousands have migrated to Belize from various continents including Asia, North America, South America, Europe and Africa.  Swearing-In ceremonies are held every three months in Belmopan, Cayo District.  According to the Immigration Minister, many of these persons had submitted their application since the late 1990s and in the early 2000s.
