A taxi driver of Ambergris Caye is listed in a stable condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after being shot on the island.  Reports reaching Love News is that 31-year-old, Juan Menjivar was shot in his arm and stomach whilst conducting business on Lion Street at the entrance of the San Pedrito area of San Pedro Town.  Menjivar received initial treatment at the San Pedro Polyclinic and was subsequently brought to Belize City for further medical attention.  Love News understands that Menjivar was the gunman’s target.  At the scene, police found five expended bullet shells and one slug.  Eyewitnesses at the scene told the investigators that the attacker escaped via a water vessel that was standing by on the lagoon side at the end of Crocodile Street.  Police are currently looking into all leads in this latest shooting incident.  As for Menjivar, he is no stranger to San Pedro Police as in mid-2014, he was arrested and charged for drug trafficking, discharging a firearm in public, possession of uncustomed goods and possession of ten thousand dollars believed to be proceeds of drug sales.
