An Orange Walk resident is expected to be charged today in the San Ignacio’s Magistrate Court for a burglary incident that occurred over the weekend in San Ignacio Town, Cayo District.  20-year-old, Jessie Briceno of San Felipe Village, Orange Walk District was nabbed through the collaboration of the Orange Walk and San Ignacio Police.  Briceno was found with 83 – five dollar bills; 37 – ten dollar bills; 285 – one dollar coins, several shillings and other items.  Authorities believe the items found were proceeds from a burglary that occurred at Julies Hardware Store on Blue Bird Street in San Ignacio between closing time on November 7 and eight o’clock on November 8.  Business owner, Alexander Fraser made the report to the police, saying that when he got back to his store on Sunday, he found the metal door opened and the padlock undone.  Upon making checks, Fraser found that the cashier draw was opened which had one thousand Belizean dollars; the metal safe which held five thousand Belizean dollars and two thousand US dollars; to a total of ten thousand dollars.  Notably, investigators found that the padlock was not broken but seemingly opened with a key.  Briceno, who will be charged, also has a residence on Guadalupe Street in San Ignacio Town.
