Wet Weather for the Christmas Season

Around this time of year, many Belizeans look forward to the slight dry chill that indicates the Christmas season is near.  Some years have been known to be chillier than others particularly in November through to January and with Christmas trees already going up and the stores already having pre-Christmas sales, we thought we’d check in with the Chief MET Officer to see what kind of weather we can expect over the Christmas season.

DENNIS GONGUEZ

“All indications are that whenever we have an El Nino year our cold fronts tend to be a bit more wet so its quite possible that when the fronts come down they become stationary over us and quite likely we will see more wet weather associated with cold fronts rather  than the dry cold weather that we get at this time of the year.”

For those counting down, there are 42 days till Christmas Day.
