An accident occurred on the George Price Highway this afternoon sometime after midday.  The accident happened around mile twenty six where thirty year old Franz Schmitt of Burrell Boom was working on the highway for the Road Safety Project and was, at the time of the incident, engaged in marking the highway. When the police arrived at the scene they observed that Schmitt was not wearing any safety reflector vest nor had he any cones on the road or signage. The red pickup truck that ended up in the ditch off the road was at the time driven by seventy seven year old Lloyd Monroe of Amara Avenue in Belize City. Luckily no one was injured in this accident.
