Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster, OC, Eastern Division Rural: “We recovered a knife never the less we believe that there was another weapon used in this incident.”

Reporter :Could you say whether or not the persons involved were consuming alcohol?

Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster, OC, Eastern Division Rural: “Yes they were consuming alcohol and we believe that may have been a factor as well.”

Police say that the murder is gang related.

Sr. Supt. Edward Broaster, OC, Eastern Division Rural: Apparently it’s gang rivalry between George Street and Ghost town. We know that the individuals that stabbed Mr.Flowers are from the George Street gang and we believe that Mr.Flowers is related or an associate of Ghost Town Crips.”

Jennifer Thomas, Mother of Murder Victim:My son is not a part of a gang. When my son is not here he is with Mr. Longsworth. He is not a problem child,  he never gets himself in trouble. I don’t know why they don’t like my son. But it’s a set up because the young lady set up the guys to kill my son.”

Police have detained two persons and are looking for a third in connection with the incident.

Jennifer Thomas, Mother of Murder Victim: “I just hope and pray that they find all of them and we get justice because if we don’t I will take it into my own hands.”
