“At around ten o’clock last night, Ladyville’s Highway Patrol Rural Rapid Response Team was set to intercept a vehicle coming from the Burrell Boom junction. However, when the driver of the vehicle saw the patrol unit, he suddenly made a turn and sped off towards Sandhill Village. The highway patrol unit set chase after the vehicle which led them all the way to Mile 26 of the Phillip Goldson Highway.”

The persons inside the vehicle managed to escape and the firearm was taken to Ladyville Police station where it was processed. Police managed to prevent that crime with the help of the community.”

Due to our see something, say something, stop something and our Rural Rapid Response Team and the district defense dome that we have put in place I can safely tell you that we were able to foil a robbery that was planned to be committed in our area. The objective of these perpetrators were to plant this submachine gun in a disclosed location in the Ladyville area last night where they would have come today or tomorrow to commit a major robbery in our area. Due to the efforts that the cooperation we’ve been having with our community and the efforts of our Rural Rapid Response team we were able to foil that plan.”

HIPOLITO NOVELO REPORTING

“Police believe that the culprits are from Belize City and gang affiliates. In fact, they know who they are.”

SR. SUPT. EDWARD BROASTER

“The initial information panned out pretty well up until the point where they escaped because we knew that they were going to be coming from through the Boom area into Hattieville rather thaN from the Phillip Goldson Highway.”

LOCAL REPORTER

“So now you’re looking for several people?”

SR. SUPT. EDWARD BROASTER

We know who the perpetrators are. We do not know if they were in the specific vehicle and it would be difficult for us to charge them not seeing who was in the vehicle. We know that the perpetrators may want to continue the plot but we want them to know that we know and not in our division.”
