2015 Statistics Show Decrease in Crime

In 2014, two thousand seven hundred and sixteen crimes had been reported. The number decreased by about ten percent in 2015 with two thousand and thirty four reported crimes. Of that number, one hundred and nineteen murders were committed in 2015, a slight decrease from 2014. Belize City recorded the most with 66 murders while the Toledo District recorded the least with three murders. According to Commissioner of Police, Allen Whylie, their most challenging area is the Belize District which has been broken down into regions.
