Yesterday, at around midday, the GSU searched the home of twenty five year old Elvis Aldana on Rivero Street in Belize City. With Aldana at the time were, Marco Zelaya, an eighteen year old computer technician of Reggae Street, twenty year old Joseph Lopez, an electrician of Mahogany Street and a 17 year old female of Crooked Tree Village. All of them were charged for possession of controlled drugs after officers found twenty eight point five grams of marijuana stuffed inside the sofa. The GSU say that Aldana is a well-known drug peddler in the area and that Lopez is no stranger to the law. They say he is a member of the PIV gang who was charged for a 2014 attempted murder and the robbery at A&R in October of 2014. About eight hours later GSU officers search an abandon yard on Plues Street.  There they found a point three eighty Auto pistol Keltec Brand loaded with six live rounds. No-one was in the immediate area at the time of the discovery therefore; the firearm and ammunition were labeled and deposited as Found Property. The firearm is registered to Bradley Paumen of Belmopan. He is currently on remand for abetment to commit murder. Another abandoned yard was search later that night, this time in the West Canal Area of Belize City. Two point four pounds of marijuana was found and since no one was in the area it was taken back to the station and labeled as found property. The GSU believes that the drug is the property of the George Street Gang whose members peddle drugs from the Plues Street area. Also last night, about 9:15, members of the GSU visited the Mahogany Street area and conducted a search at the corner of Flamboyant Street and Fern Lane. And as a result, six live nine millimeter rounds of ammunition were found concealed in a black plastic bag near a telephone booth. No-one was in the immediate area at the time of the discovery therefore the ammunition were labeled and deposited as Found Property. The ammunition found is believed to be for members of the PIV gang.
