BBOC Bus Hits Cyclist on Its Way to Benque

Police in Hattieville Village, Belize District are looking into a traffic incident that occurred at mile twelve on the George Price Highway that has left a teenage cyclist injured.  Just after ten o’clock this morning 16-year-old, Shakir Tillett of Camalote Village and 20-year-old, Joel Cabeza of Teakettle Village were riding their bikes on the George Price Highway when they were hit by a BBOC bus heading west and driven at the time by 19-year-old, Tysheen Vasquez of Lord’s Bank, Ladyville.  Tillett has complained of pains in both legs and at the scene had indicated that she could not move her legs or toes.  Police are still investigating and it is expected that the bus driver will be issued a notice of intended prosecution.
