Collet Rep Says PUP’s Leadership Race is ‘Hilarious’

The Special National Convention is just three days away and the debate that was to feature the three men vying for leadership in the PUP is no longer a factor in this race for Party Leader.  The last few weeks, however, has been nothing short of entertaining and does give credence to the saying that politics is dirty.  We allude to that adage as some weeks ago we had reported on the negativity flooding Facebook from PUP supporters, ranging from slander to accusations and allegations as well as the airing of some dirty linens in the party.  Some weeks ago we had asked Prime Minister Dean Barrow to weigh in on this upcoming convention but he opted to refrain from giving his input.  Collet’s Area Representative, however, Patrick Faber, did give his feedback on the matter, referring to it as, ‘hilarious’.

PATRICK FABER

“Very very hilarious in many ways. The fact that Mr. Fonseca came back, the fact that there’s so much negativity going on in a time when they’re trying to revive and give themselves a new branding, it sends the signal that not much has changed and that is why I am able to speak with such confidence about a fourth term although granted it is very very far off. Four years is quite a distance. Anything can happen. They’re not starting off in the right direction in my view.”

Love News will be following Sunday’s convention which starts in Belmopan at 9am.
