GOB and CDB Collaborate to Bring Water Into Santa Anna

Through the aid of the Caribbean Development Bank, the residents of Santa Anna Village in the Toledo District are now equipped with running water.  The Government of Belize had the village’s rudimentary water system upgraded with support financing from the CDB through the Belize Social Investment Fund as well as the Government of Belize with the participation of the community who provided labour.  An official inauguration took place last Friday and was attended by Government officials and resident.  Santa Anna WaterThe residents of Santa Anna now has access to twenty thousand gallon capacity tank which is a major improvement from when they only had five thousand gallons per day for over the five hundred residents, schools and the agriculture sector.  This particular project also provides for the improvement of bathroom facilities at the Santa Anna Government School as well as a training aspect for the residents, aimed at keeping the system running efficiently and effectively.  The project was completed at a total of two hundred and eighty seven thousand US dollars.
