While the GSU Officers were taking drugs and ammunitions off the streets of Belize City, Eastern Division South Strike Team was getting ready. Douglas Hyde – PR Officer, Police Department

“Since the whole division segment of North Side, South Side and rural, these police officers who are tactically the best of the best they are the ones who work on specific information but those are the ones who go into the street on a day to day basis looking at want to be criminals and making sure that our streets are safer and calmer. Our south side strike team from the time Mr. Williams took over, he created this operational team that goes directly into these hot spots and these are the police officers who make sure that they go after those persons who want to create havoc on these communities. It’s not an easy job but we give credit to the police officers specifically over the period of time these are the officers who have been taking weapons off the street and ammunition and a lot of drugs and have been in these criminal faces very much hard and have been doing a great jobs in getting some of these criminals off the street. What we’ve done is highlight some of these efforts of these police officers. There are 30 of them in the Eastern Division strike team including four women and the rest are men.
