Body Found in Lamanai Lagoon

The body of a man was found floating in the Lamanai Lagoon in Indian Church Village in Orange Walk, yesterday morning. The body was found by a villager who called the police. Police arrived at the scene and found fifty one year old Honduran national Guido Urbina. Love News spoke to Inspector Nicolas Palomo, Deputy Commander of Orange Walk shared the details.

“Yesterday the 24th of January 2016 Orange Walk police visited the Lamanai Lagoon located in Indian Church village. There police observed the body of a male person that had apparently been torn in half by crocodiles, both the feet hands were found bound with yellow plastic rope. There was also a yellow rope around the neck of the person. The body of the person was taken to the lagoon head and a post mortem was conducted at about 5:45. The body was identified to be of one Honduran National Dido Urbina age 51. He was a resident of Indian Church Village.”

Police found one single gunshot wound to Urbina’s head above his left eye. Police say they are looking for three men who were socializing with Urbina the last time he was seen.

“At the conclusion of the post mortem it was noted that there was one single bullet hole to the head that came through on the forehead about an inch from the left eye and it came out a little above the right ear. The doctor concluded that the death was a result of a gunshot to the head. At this time we are investigating three persons who have not been detained as yet, we are looking for them. This person was last seen alive on Saturday night along with the three guys we are looking for.”

Villagers of Indian Creek, told police that Urbina was known in the village but never really spoke to anyone.
