Belizean Musician Dies at Age 63

63-year-old, Nelson Fuller was laid to rest over the weekend in Los Angeles, California, USA.  Fuller came to Belize in 1972 and was a part of the Lord Rhaburn Combo for about ten years.  He was dubbed an outstanding drummer in the 1970s and 1980s.  According to Belizean Legends, Fuller went back to the United States but continued his musical career for years as he made a significant contribution to the musical development of arts and culture in the Los Angeles Belizean Community.  Bilal Morris who also lives in California had conducted an interview with Fuller who spoke on his career as he played for in Stevie Wonder’s Band as well as Billy Preston.

Fuller has been ill for some years now and passed away on February 15, 2016.  His funeral service was conducted on February 27 at God’s Place of Refuge International on South Western Avenue in Los Angeles.  Several musicians were in attendance at the service which was followed by a repast at the Los Angeles Community Church.
