Ten Fishermen Rescued on Rough Seas

Late Friday evening, a distress call was received by the Belize Coast Guard and as a result a team was dispatched to the area near Caye Glory, located in the Stann Creek District. At that location they found that ten persons including the captain, Alvaro Trejo, were aboard a vessel that experienced engine failure.  Around the time of the rescue there was inclement weather in the area accompanied by rough seas and so the persons were taken to the Bluefield Range to shelter.  The Belize Coast Guard team in this incident comprised of Three Petty Officers, Class three, namely, Daniel Sabido, Arthur Garbutt and Trevor Vasquez along with Seaman, Osman Alcoser.
