PM Dean Barrow Earns Title of ‘Right Honorable’

The title, Right Honorable has been bestowed upon Belize’s Prime Minister, Dean Barrow through an appointment to the Privy Council.  The announcement came via a release from the Office of the British Prime Minister on Tuesday, March 1, 2016.  Prime Minister Dean Barrow was appointed by the Queen Elizabeth II at the advice of the British Prime Minister.  Individuals who have been appointed to Her Majesty’s Most Honorable Privy Council are normally those who have achieved high political, ecclesiastical or judicial office or have achieved eminence in public affairs in the UK or the Commonwealth.  This appointment now makes Belize’s Prime Minister, Right Honorable.  Prime Minister’s appointment is for life and makes him the fourth Belizean political leader to have earned this title.  The other three are the late, George Cadle Price, Said Wilbert Musa and Sir Manuel Esquivel.
