A Belizean couple was involved in a road accident on Friday night in San Benito, Peten in Guatemala.  Love News understands that the 54-year-old Belizean woman was driving her personal vehicle to Flores, Peten and she and her husband were heading to a Church Revival when they were rear-ended by a Government vehicle which caused her to lose control of the vehicle in the heavy rains and slippery road.  As a result, the woman, Irma Ester Avella passed away, leaving her husband, Pastor Ricky Avella in the passenger seat with injuries.  The husband was taken to the San Benito Hospital and later transferred to La Loma Luz Hospital where he is listed in a stable condition.  Reports reaching our news centre are that most of their belongings were stolen from the vehicle just after the accident.  It is uncertain if and where charges will be levied in that municipality.  The couple has been known to travel to Peten, Guatemala for church events.  Irma Ester Avella was employed as the head person at the medical lab at La Loma Luz Hospital in Santa Elena Town, Cayo District.
