Country Leader Weighs in On Leniency Shown Against Human Trafficker

Last month sixty four year old Honduran National Estella Gonzalez was the first person to be convicted for the crime of human trafficking. At the time of her sentencing, her attorneys asked the judge for leniency citing that Gonzalez suffered from several medical conditions including diabetes and heart disease.  While most expected her to be confined at prison, the presiding judge fined Gonzalez seventy five thousand dollars which was paid on the same day. Today we got a reaction from Prime Minister Dean Barrow on the matter.
