Citrus Growers have still not received payment as yet, however, it appears there might be some good news. A release from the Belize Citrus Growers Association states that they were informed by CPBL that Heritage Bank is still waiting for approval from the Central Bank to release the remaining funds. CBL however has indicated that they may be able to pay last week’s fruit payroll on the regular schedule from their own cash flow. CPBL says it will be releasing last week’s fruit payment to growers tomorrow, Friday. CPBL says as it relates to this week’s payroll, they will have to defer payment again until further funds becomes available to them.
