Taiwan’s President Makes Last Visit to Belize

Taiwan’s President Ma Ying-Jeou will be in Belize tomorrow on what will be his last visit to our country in that capacity.  May 20, 2016 marks the last day of his presidency and the first day of a female President for Taiwan. Love News spoke with Ambassador Benjamin Ho who spoke on tomorrow’s visit.

With the head of the island seeing a change in head, we asked Ambassador Ho if there will be any changes as they relate to cooperation agreements between Belize and Taiwan.

Ambassador Ho has been serving in Belize for the last two years and he says that it has been a wonderful experience and will be his final diplomatic posting as he will be retiring in 2017 as he reaches the age of 65.

President Ma Ying-Jeou arrives at the Philip Goldson International Airport in a chartered plane and will be met by the Governor General of Belize, His Excellency Sir Colville Young.  During his time in Belize he will also be meeting with the Prime Minister, members of the Taiwanese community, Government officials as well as three Caribbean leaders who will be arriving in Belize tomorrow.
