While there are several infrastructural works taking place in several parts of the country, there are also some projects that are coming on stream within the next few months.  CEO Gentle says these works fall under the Climate Resilience Project.

“We have other projects that we have in the pipeline that I would like to mention, they have not started as yet but you have the climate resilience project which is done under the world bank and that is the upgrading from Gardenia Village at about mile 24 on the Phillip Goldson and that goes up to the airport junction. I mentioned a while ago under the fifth road project we are doing from the airport junction towards the bridge so now we are going from the airport junction where that project starts toward Gardenia and that will be upgraded with all the safety features but we are looking at climate resilience, so we’re looking at the drainage and the culverts. You should know that part of that area is prone to flooding so that is what we are trying to address.”

CEO Gentle says that they Ministry is rehabilitating and improving the road conditions with the objective of minimizing road traffic incidents as was done on the George Price Highway through the Belize Road Safety Project.
