Local Launch Held for Harvest Caye Cruise Port

In about six and a half months, the southern portion of Belize will see a boost in economic activities as Norwegian Cruise Line will activate their Harvest Caye Cruise Port.  It is a project that millions of dollars have been invested in and is located just off the Placencia Peninsula.  In a media brief at the Belize Ocean Club on Thursday afternoon, there was a local launch of the project.  Senior Vice President, Colin Murphy, gave the main presentation in which he spoke on why Belize was chosen and what the project will be offering.

Also addressing the gathering, comprised of members of the Belize Tourism Board, friends and administrators of the project, was Tourism Minister, Manuel Heredia Jr., who spoke of the tourism goals of the Government and the benefits for the southern residents.

The project comprises of much more amenities including an assortment of food and beverage and shopping options.  An international press brief was initially held last week in Miami, Florida.
