FEM CRUZ REPORTING

“On Sunday April 10, 37-year-old, Lewis Eswardo Ortiz a resident of Shalpek Street Maya Mopan Belmopan was reported missing by family members. According to the father of the missing person, 53 year old Arnulfo Ortiz his son left home in his car sometime around 9pm en route to La Cabana night club. The family understands that the Ortiz was socializing along with a friend at the club when they decided to leave the area. As they were about to leave, three persons forced themselves inside the car along with them where they took them to an unknown area. On Sunday April 10 sometime around 5pm police found Ortiz’s car in the Belize Old River in the young bank area of Camalote Village. A search team was immediately organized by the police along with family members and friends where they searched an area on water and land. Love News spoke to a family member who was a part of that search team.”

FAMILY MEMBER

“I got a call to inform us that they found the car somewhere up the river so I as a good friend and close family member went to see and confirm if it was his car. When we got there we saw that it was his car. We came back and we gathered some friends and family and we put together a search team. We went to look for him and dived and we found him maybe about 400 yards away from the scene and it was very sad. This guy was a very nice guy, he was fun, helpful, no trouble at all. I just want to say that if anybody knows anything we would want justice because it doesn’t make sense for all these senseless killing to happen. I know the guy and he’s not involved in anything, he is close to us. I know him so I just want to see that justice happens.”
