It has been just over a year since His Excellency Nestor Mendez was awarded the post of Assistant Secretary General for the Organization of American States and with that the veteran banker, Pat Andrews, took up the post of Belizean Ambassador to the United States.  Yesterday, as an addition to his portfolio, Ambassador Andrews presented his letter of introduction to the Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau as the new Belize High Commissioner to Canada on Monday, April 11.  Andrews now holds the posts of Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States, Ambassador to the United States and now, Belize High Commission to Canada.  Andrews’ work continues primarily out of Washington DC.  Holding these three posts as a diplomat is nothing new as they have been held previously by Ambassadors Nestor Mendez, Lisa Shoman and James Murphy.  The posts were only separated once when Amalia Mai was given the post of Resident High Commission to Canada in 2003.
