Last year we told you about the donation of two Helicopters that the Belize Defense Force had gained from the Taiwanese Government. The helicopters are the first ever to be owned by the BDF other than the BELL 407 that was confiscated last year at Blue Creek in the Orange Walk District.  A Taiwanese team of technicians and pilots are in the country, training about three pilots and ten mechanics. Today the Taiwanese U-H-one-H helicopter was seen flying over the BDF base. Reports are that these training will consist of twenty to thirty hours in flight just to make sure the helicopters are functioning properly.  After the training the helicopters will officially be presented to the Government of Belize and then subsequently to the Belize Defense Force.
