There were two shooting incidents in Belize City over the weekend that left two men injured.  Senior Superintendent Alden Dawson briefed us on those incidents.

ALDEN DAWSON

“We had Justin Belgrave, 27 year old who was at a shop on Vernon Street and he heard shots being fired and he ran and later realized that he got shot in his groin, genital area. We have nothing concrete to link these shootings. We had the shooting of a young man Venario Taka a 24 year old Belizean. He was riding his bicycle heading on Glynn Street heading toward Euphrates Avenue when he heard a shot fired and a young man was riding behind him in the same direction. He realized after the shot was fired that three of the shots caught him. One to his arm and two to his knees.”

Love News understands that there was also a stabbing incident on Antelope Street in Belize City but police was unable to furnish us with the details.  We can tell you, however, that one Jesus Martinez was injured in that incident.
