Prime Minister Dean Barrow left Belize today to attend the signing of the Paris Agreement at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. In December, 2015, 195 countries came together and adopted a new international agreement to address climate change; named the “Paris Agreement.”  This Agreement is seen as historic in the fight against climate change as it sets the basis for common action against climate change. Prime Minister Barrow is scheduled to return to the country on April 24. During the Prime Minister’s absence, Deputy Prime Minister, Gaspar Vega will act as Prime Minister.
