Three Rural Schools Top Softball Championship

The national Primary School Softball Championships began today in Belize City. Over a hundred students gathered at the Marion Jones Stadium from across the country to compete. Attending the event was Minister of State in the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture Elodio Aragon. He spoke to Love news on the event.

Aragon spoke on the importance of keeping sports within Primary schools as well as areas in sports that need to have more focus.

Richel Dominguez, Executive Director of the National Sports Council spoke to Love News about why they won’t have monetary prizes for the event.

Crooked Tree Government School captured first place while Aquacate RC School from Toledo placed second and Independence Primary School was third. The winners will represent Belize in the upcoming CODICADER games in July.
