There was a traffic incident on the Hummingbird Highway in Saint Margaret’s Village at mile thirty eight just (VO STARTS) before five o’clock involving a dump truck carrying oranges and a white taxi sedan.  Reports reaching our news centre were that the occupant of the sedan, Manuel Smith of San Ignacio Town was trapped inside the vehicle and upon his release was taken to the Western Regional Hospital for x-rays.  Smith was reportedly traveling back home from Placencia when the incident occurred.  We have been unable to ascertain what the extent of the man’s injuries is or what led to the collision but we can tell you that it did create a backup in the flow of traffic and that the driver of the truck, a resident of Teakettle Village escaped unhurt.
