Belmopan City Council Floats Municipal Bond

This morning the Belmopan City Council and Heritage Trust Financial Services signed an agreement for a municipal bond worth six point five million Belize dollars. The bond is to improve the quality of life for the residents of the city through public works. While an estimated twenty million dollars is needed for public investment, the Belmopan City Council has decided to begin the project with the six million dollar bond. Mayor of Belmopan Khalid Belisle spoke to Love News on how they plan to utilize the bond.

Mayor Belisle spoke on the how confident they are on payments for the bond and investors.

As we mentioned the bond was signed with the fiscal agent Heritage Trust and financial advisor, Legal Fund Limited. Stephen Duncan, Managing Director of Heritage Trust Financial Services spoke about their role with in the bond process.

Interest payment date are to be made on February 1 and August 1 starting next year.
